Day 11 - Fremantle and it's museums

After a call from my niece in Canada, we boarded the train back to Freo this time to do the Shipwreck and maritime museums. The thing about Australian museums is that they are largely free except for special exhibitions. Unlike the Dutch museums which are a pricey £25 a time.

Both of these were excellent and take most of the day to go around. In between the gap between one museum and another, we take lunch near the container port and watch a ship depart. Quiet an orchestrated set of movements as it involves 3 tugs and a lot of ropes.

Arriving back in Perth, we seek out "Durty Nelly's" - an Irish bar that is absolutely rammed so we are lucky to find a seat for dinner. The food is plainer but very welcome. We head back to the Adina to wash up and our little routine plays out once again - a shower, Spanish lesson, write this journal, cup of tea and back out to town once again.

Our evening consisted this time of a short pub crawl - The Lucky Shag in Elizabeth Quay - the ex-HQ for the Barmy Army - The Most pretentious bar in Perth (see former post) and of course ended up at the Belgian Bar which is now Walsall-safe. More beer was consumed than I expected but can't let The Black Country down.
