Day 14- The Terracotta Army

As it was scorcio too - 39 degrees C - we planned a trip to the Western Australia State Museum which is excellent.

To our surprise there was an added bonus- the Terracotta Army, or part of it, was on display for the bargain price of $A17! Probably one of the best exhibitions I had been to ever. There were 8 actual warriors from Xian in China where over 10,000 are buried with one of the Emperors as well as a lot of artefacts and lots of interesting stuff about a part of the world I know little about.

After a lunch of fishcakes we went around the rest of the museum - that took 3 hours to do and was very good - lots of pieces about WA and a good smattering of WWI and II stuff.

There was some woke stuff about migration - it's the liberal theme in most museums these days, but there was good stuff about sport which is a very big part of Australian life the life of your average Western Australian and good sections about space, rocks, minerals, wildlife and palaeontology in general.

We returned to the hotel a little footsore via the Belgian bar for a refreshing soft drink, and then hit the gym again. We have settled into this routine of showers, journal writing, Spanish lessons, posting pictures on WhatsApp. The evening consists of dinner, beer and back to the hotel for sleep.
