Day 25 - South Australian Art Museum

Today was primarily our last domestic washing day and we found a nice launderette not too far away run by a very pleasant Asian lady. We gave her our surplus washing powder as there was not way that's going back to the UK. It was very hot today - touching 35 degrees. We also managed a stop in a nearby cafe whilst the washing was progressing.

Back to the hotel to drop the finished laundry and then we took the quickest route to the Art Museum as this had also been identified a having air-con.

Art museums are obviously for "art" people, they are also served by these strange creatures who look like they will burst into tears if you mention something that you don't like. A sort of social coercion.

The museum has some better painting than the WA one - less modern and also some sculptures by Roden and Hepworth, which pleased YJ as the latter is from Yorkshire (of course).

There's also a big display of Aboriginal art which I find most primitive - it does my head in, all this fawning. Their art is crude even compared to the eighteenth century English artists who have more style and grace about them.

Having suffered enough of being bashed by the liberals, we head back to the hotel and hit the gym again. I felt good after that.

For a change, we headed to the Prince Albert Hotel which we had found near the launderette. I had an enormous chicken schnitzel which took me 20 minutes to chew through!

The beer wasn't too bad there but not quite as good as the Gilbert Street Hotel.
