Day 26 - Glenelg

Today we treated ourselves to breakfast in the nearby Adelaide Market which is a bit like Blade Runner meets Old Bilston.

We then sought out the bus to Glenelg as that tramline was being refurbished. Glenelg is a beach resort used by most people from Adelaide and isn't too far away. It has the customary white beaches and aqua blue Indian Ocean but today was especially windy. It's also the place where the Brits landed in 1836 and sent off Colonel William Light to find some land to build a city which he duly did.

We managed a 6 mile walk in this wind which was a bit of a struggle with sand in your face but along the coastal path - good exercise. We then went to the museum for some barracking off the museum staff regarding the cricket. There's a lot of "apologising for taking your land" stuff and the staff also stuff it in your face a little bit which I'm not impressed by to be honest.

I was knackered when we got back from this and slept for a good 30 minutes.

In the evening, we resumed our places at the Gilbert Street Hotel which included meeting up with one of YJ's former aerospace colleagues - Phil. He's also over here for the test matches and he's also been around the UK quite a lot having moved to Somerset and then Derbyshire. Another interesting chap who's done a bit. I must add that our usual routine of Spanish lessons, journal writing and showering has continued in case you're wondering what happened to that.
